The CECDE recognises the role of parents as primary educators of their children and the most important
individuals in a child’s life.
In view of this in March 2005 we held a consultation with a group of parent representatives from the County Childcare
Committees and the National Parent’s Council in Dublin. The group gave their views as parents on
the work of the CECDE, in particular the NQF/ECCE Principles.
As part of this initiative we also held an on-line consultation on our website. During March 2005, we invited all parents to take part in this and to
comment on the NQF/ECCE Principles using the consultative document provided on-line.
We would like to thank all who took part in this consultation- a full report is being written on the findings and will be hosted here shortly.
