Re-use of Public Sector Information

The Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2005 (SI 279 of 2005) places an obligation on public sector bodies to provide information about material that they are prepared to release.

The Department of Finance has established a central website which provide links to the Public Sector Information webpages for Departments/Offices and all relevant public sector bodies. This site also contains the text of the Directive and Regulations, as well as the standard licence.

Information and documents obtained from this website may be reproduced and/or re-used subject to the latest PSI licence available at the Re-Use of Public Sector Information Portal. The download and re-use of information from the CECDE website is free but is conditional on the following terms:
  1. You must clearly identify the source and title of the document
  2. You must clearly identify the date of publication of the document or, where no publication date is readily available, the date on which the document first became available
  3. You must include in each work details of the copyright together with a statement that the material is being reproduced under Licence and place this statement in such a manner or location so as to give reasonable notice of claim of copyright in the work
  4. You must not use the document:
    • for the principal purpose of advertising or promoting a particular product or service
    • for an illegal, immoral, fraudulent or dishonest purpose or in support of the aforementioned purposes
    • in a manner which would imply endorsement by the CECDE
    • generally in a manner which is likely to mislead others
  5. You must not reproduce any crest, logo or mark of the State, a Government Department or a body governed by public law, except where such crest, logo, or mark forms an integral part of the document being reused
  6. You must accurately reproduce or re-use current documents or parts thereof
For a full list of conditions specified in the PSI licence, please visit the Re-Use of Public Sector Information Portal.

The information on this website which may be downloaded or re-used includes our publications, policy submissions, conference papers, published articles, papers and presentations from the CECDE International Conferences, and databases.

Please contact Peadar Cassidy, Information Officer with any enquiries on this topic.
